Many head to mass today to receive their ashes

Christians around the world are marking Ash Wednesday.  Here in the Borderland, many Catholics will head to mass Wednesday to receive their ashes.  Across the globe, the pope delivered his last mass in the Vatican City on Ash Wednesday.  He will step down as the leader of the world's Catholics on Feb. 28th, 2013.  Ash Wednesday ushers in the forty days of lent, which is a period of penance, reflection and fasting in preparation for on Easter Sunday.
