Manhunt Monday: Deputies search for local con artist

Monday, February 25, 2013 - 5:19am

El Paso county sheriff deputies need your help catching a local con artist. Deputies say three years ago, Angel Martinez took $6,000 from a victim, and told them he'd help them become a U.S. resident. Martinez set up appointments with immigration officials but it was only for the victim to file for political asylum instead. Martinez was also a mobile home park manager. Deputies say he illegally sold a mobile home to another victim in which he had no ownership of or right to sell, scheming the victim of $23,350. In both instances, Martinez was arrested but has failed to show up for court. Martinez may be scheming other victims in El Paso. If you know or see Angel Martinez, call crime stoppers at 566-8477.
