It's a common mistake, that cost one El Paso man $6,000.

Rafael Contreras, 58, was paying for his meal at the Lunchbox Restaurant, 667 North Carolina Dr., around 3 p.m. on Oct. 29 when he left an envelope with $6,000 cash on the counter.

When he reached the parking lot, Contreras, realizing he'd forgotten the envelope, walked right back in.

Police say though, another man, in his 50's or 60's, had already claimed the envelope.

Detectives were able to obtain security video of the person, who is described as between 5'5" and 5'9", 160 - 180 lbs., wearing a gray sweater, black shirt and light brown pants.

He took off in a gray car.
