Man stabbed outside of East El Paso bar

A 29-year-old Deming man is in critical condition after a stabbing at an East El Paso bar Monday morning.

El Paso Police say that they were called to the "El Luchador Bar" located at 1613 N. Zaragoza at 1:35 a.m. Monday morning. When they arrived, they found the 29-year-old man with a stab wound to his stomach.

Witnesses on the scene report seeing two heavy-set Hispanic males chasing the victim through the parking lot and then they reportedly saw the victim fall to the ground. While on the ground, the victim was assaulted by both men and was also stabbed in the stomach.

The two suspects fled the scene before EPPD Officers arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. The victim was last reported to be in critical but stable condition.

EPPD say the motive of the attack remains unclear at this time, but the investigation is ongoing. Police are withholding the identity of the victim due to the nature of the attack.

The suspects in this assault are described as Hispanic, heavy-set, between 5'10" and 5'11" and were wearing dark clothing.
