A man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash Sunday night in El Paso's Lower Valley.  The crash happened at 11:53 p.m. Sunday on Alameda and Whitney near Padres.

According to El Paso Police Spokesman Darrel Petry, the motorcycle was traveling East on Alameda in the left lane, when he hit the driver's side of a car in the right lane.  The motorcycle kept going and hit a power pole, then a dumpster.  The motorcyclist was thrown off the bike.

"The operator of the motorcycle, a male, was transported to Del Sol Medical Center with injuries to his head, to his leg, and to his arm," said Petry.

The motorcyclist is said to be in stable condition.  The other driver was not injured.

The accident happened across the street from an El Paso Fire Station.  Paramedics heard the crash and responded immediately.

A portion of eastbound traffic on Alameda between Padres and Whitney was closed for about five hours while Special Traffic Investigators conducted their investigation.  All lanes reopened shortly after 5 a.m.
