El Paso police are investigating an overnight stabbing that happened in Northeast El Paso.

Officers responded to the 7-11 convenience store on Fairbanks and Rushing at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday to a reported stabbing. However, police said they do not believe that is where the incident started. Police said it might have started as a robbery at a different location.

The alleged robbery is what police believe caused a fight between groups of men. During the fight, a man was stabbed. Someone at the 7-11 store saw the victim and called 911.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

Police have not made any arrests.

If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 566-TIPS (8477).
