EAST EL PASO — An man is dead after he fell into a pool in east El Paso.
Investigators are calling the man's death an "accidental drowning".
Police say they responded to the house on a welfare check just after 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Police say the victim was lying next to the pool when they arrived after the homeowner pulled the man out of the pool. Investigators believe the man accidentally fell into the pool.
The victim is only described as a Hispanic male in his 50's and he lived next door to the home where he died.
"We observed the homeowner of the residence giving CPR to an older male which had fallen into a pool. Into their back-yard pool,” said Officer Kenny Gomez.
The man was wearing casual clothes showing he had no intent to enter the pool.
Family members watched as paramedics took the body away.
Police also say the victim would often times visit the home where the pool is located.
No name has been released.
