NEW ORLEANS (CNN) — Mardi Gras celebrations quickly turned sour after a shooting on Bourbon Street, Saturday night. One man is in critical condition, and three other people are counting their blessings.
The shooting happened on Bourbon Street just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses tell police a fight started outside a strip club called Babe's Cabaret.
When they heard three gunshots, most started to run. One woman described people being kicked, pushed, and trampled as they tried to run to safety.
The bullets grazed three people: two women and one man. A second man wasn't so lucky and was shot.
He was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition. Police said they are using surveillance video and cell phone video to help them track down a suspect.
