The El Paso Police Department have arrested 22-year-old Adam Keith Jackson and charged him in the death of his 11-month-old son earlier this month.

Police allege that Jackson was caring for his 11-month-old son, Aidan Jackson in their home in the 3300 block of Zion in Northeast El Paso while the child's mother was out of the home. The child was found unresponsive the following morning and El Paso Fire and EMS were dispatched to the apartment.

The baby was transported to El Paso Children's Hospital for treatment and was pronounced dead. During an examination of the baby, doctors located suspicious injuries to the baby's head. An autopsy later revealed that the baby suffered a skull fracture and injuries to his throat and ankle.

Police allege that Jackson was responsible for the injuries and have booked him into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a Capital Murder charge. His bond is currently set at $250,000.

Fort Bliss Officials have confirmed that Jackson is a Private First Class U.S. Army Soldier stationed at Fort Bliss and assigned to the 1st Armored Division. They say that due to the ongoing criminal investigation, Fort Bliss cannot comment any further about Jackson's case.
