BROOKLYN, NY — An El Paso man who posed as a CIA agent to get cash from a New York prostitution ring madam will be sentenced this month.
Jonathan Shoman, 34, also known as the "Muffin Man" admitted his job was to make sure the madam's clients weren't undercover agents in law enforcement.
Between 2005 and 2008 he got paid more than $76,000 to run these background checks.
He'll be sentenced on a money laundering charge in a Brooklyn, N.Y. court on Jan. 13.
