Dona Ana County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a 62-year-old man after a woman alleged that he abducted her from a local truck stop and sexually assaulted her.

The victim told DACSO deputies that she was traveling on a bus that dropped her off at a truck stop in the 200 block of Motel Blvd. Thursday. She told investigators that she was at an electrical outlet so that she could charge some devices. That's when the woman says she was approached by 62-year-old Dimas Gonzalez, who was driving a silver pickup truck.

According to the victim, Gonzalez grabbed the woman’s luggage and put it in the back of his truck. He then allegedly demanded that the woman get in the passenger side of his truck. The woman told investigators she complied because she was in fear of her life.
The victim said Gonzalez drove toward the river, where he pulled onto a dirt road and parked. The victim said that’s when Gonzalez allegedly sexually assaulted her. He then drove her back to the truck stop, where the victim called for help.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate Gonzalez at his home a short time later using a description of his truck. He was arrested and taken to the Doña Ana County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of kidnapping, criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual penetration. His bond is set at $100,000 cash.
