El Paso, TX — The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) is pleased to announce the Music Under the Stars Independence Day Patriotic Concert and Fireworks Spectacular featuring the El Paso Wind Symphony sponsored by GECU. The El Paso Wind Symphony will play patriotic selections with a fireworks finale at 9:00 pm.
The concert will be held Friday, July 4, 2014 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Chamizal National Memorial located at 800 South San Marcial Street. The first 5,000 visitors will receive complimentary 3D fireworks glasses courtesy of the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department and GECU.
About the El Paso Wind Symphony
The El Paso Wind Symphony was established in the 1995 by Dr. Ron Hufstader and a group of El Paso area band directors. The Wind Symphony consists of approximately 50 players. This includes woodwind, brass, and percussion; the normal instrumentation for a concert band or wind ensemble.
Concert goers may park at the El Paso Zoo and take a shuttle to the park for free from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Grills are allowed at the park except at the inner part known as the bowl. Smoking is NOT allowed in the bowl area. Glass containers and pets are not allowed in park grounds. Outside alcohol is NOT permitted. Food, beverages, and alcoholic beverages will be for sale by the food vendors. There will not be a concert Sunday July 6, 2014.
