If you're on a budget, the friendly skies may not seem that way anymore. Major U.S. airlines are reviving fare increases for high-end tickets.
On Monday, American, United, Continental and US Airways raised prices from $20 to $60 per round trip on some tickets for business travelers.
This comes as airlines deal with the prospect of higher jet fuel prices. Oil prices surged to their highest levels in more than two years Tuesday, as political unrest continued throughout the Middle East.
This week's increases cover first-class seats, economy seats that can be upgraded to first-class, and so-called walk-up fares, which are tickets that are bought on the same day of travel.
