El Paso, TX (KDBC) — A local veteran's healthcare organization is being recognized for its treatment to the gay community.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation recognized the El Paso Veterans Administration Health Care System as a "leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality" in the HRC's annual survey.
The facility was selected among 464 in the country for the honor, meeting criteria for equitable care, non-discrimination policies for LGBT patients and employees, equal visitation rights for same-sex partners and parents, and LGBT health education for staff.
"We are honored by the recognition. It underscores our unwavering commitment to provide excellent service to all Veterans," said director John Mendoza.
