Local Congressmen vote on fiscal cliff bill

Local congressmen voted on Senate's fiscal cliff bill during in the House meeting tonight.

U.S. Representative Steve Pearce of New Mexico voted against the bill, while El Paso Congressman Silvestre Reyes voted in favor of passing the bill.

In a statement from press aide Jose Borjon, he said, "House republicans were being obstructive and non-responsive. We needed to do this for the American people. He voted the right way."

Reyes' last vote in office will be tomorrow, as Beto O'Rourke will be sworn in Thursday.

U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich of New Mexico voted in favor of the fiscal cliff bill.

U.S. Senator, Kay Bailey Hutchison, voted in favor of the bill when Senate voted on the plan early Monday morning.
