LCPD: Pregnant woman, man dead in afternoon shooting

Las Cruces Police have confirmed that they are investigating the shooting death of a 30-year-old pregnant woman at the Sexton Apartments located at 1850 Sexton St. in Las Cruces.

LCPD were called to the scene around 12:20 p.m. Monday afternoon, when they arrived at the scene, officers found a pregnant woman, a man and a toddler inside the home. The woman and man both had gunshot wounds.

The 30-year-old woman was transported to Mountain View Regional Medical Center where she and her unborn child were both pronounced dead.

Inside the home, a 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene from what investigators say appear to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

The toddler who was also inside the apartment at the time of the shooting was not injured during the incident.

LCPD are still investigating what led to the shooting, and will release the names of the woman and man after notification of family members.
