LC Crime Stoppers: $1,000 reward offered in arson case

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers need public assistance identifying the people who may be responsible for setting a business on fire two days before Thanksgiving. They are now offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information on the fire.

Las Cruces Fire Department responded to a call the evening of Tuesday, November 26th at 255 N. Mesquite St. Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but not before the building suffered heavy fire and smoke damage. A large amount of retail merchandise was also destroyed inside the building.

The initial damage estimates to the building and its contents at around $100,000.

Fire Investigators suspect the cause of the fire to have been arson, and they are now asking the public for help identifying the person or persons responsible for setting the business on fire.
