Las Cruces Police arrested two men suspected of a residential armed robbery early Saturday morning.

Marvin “V” McShan and Marquis Williams, both 19, are charged with one count each of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and two counts each of conspiracy.

Shortly after 12 a.m. Saturday, April 26, Las Cruces Police were called to a home on the 1800 block of Solano Drive where three men were claiming to be victims of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Police learned that at around midnight someone knocked on the door and, when it was answered, four men pushed their way into the home. The victims told police that one of the men, later identified as McShan, threatened the victims with a handgun. A second suspect, identified as Williams, obtained a shotgun from within the residence and used it to threaten the three victims.

Before leaving the residence, the suspects demanded the victims hand over all their valuables.

Las Cruces Police officers located McShan and Williams a few hours later and recovered the shotgun that was stolen during the armed robbery. Police have reason to believe that McShan had been to a party at the home previously and had introduced himself as “V.”

McShan and Williams were booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bonds set at $50,000 each. The two men who accompanied McShan and Williams have yet to be identified.
