El Paso - - The jury in the Michael Romero murder trial has gone home without reaching a verdict.
They will resume deliberations tomorrow.
Romero is accused in the beating death of Valentin Rodriguez at a party in Northeast El Paso two years ago.
In closing arguments, prosecutor Jim Callan said, "That's what stinks like rotten eggs. All these statements are false from these piece of crap animals."
Defense attorney Richard Jewkes addressed the jury saying, "You have to listen to your heart. If you have a feeling in your gut, please consider it."
Judge Sam Medrano told NewsChannel 9 he was impressed with the prosecution. "It was one of the best closing arguments I've seen."
