It's so hot, I saw a mechanic wearing a quilt.

TULSA - No it's not a bad joke, The blistering summer temperatures have many thinking of ways to beat the heat.

In the past, when you've taken your car to the shop for a tune or repair, you were greeted by a common stereotype. Greasy hands, thick boots and a long sleeved/pant work garment known as a one piece. The heat these mechanics work in have forced many to rethink the typical uniform because garages and auto bays often don't have air conditioning and the engines usually put off their own heat.

Mechanics working under the hood in Tulsa, OK have found a cooler solution. They are wearing Scottish Kilts. Yes, those manly plaid skirts that are often the punch line to a joke. The hot conditions these guys work in is no joke though, and many have sworn off pants until the winter months. You don't have to be from the Isles to wear one of these things, you just need to be ready for some relief and be mindful, (insert joke here), of hot leather seats.
