High Jumper Has High Hopes

Monday, July 26, 2010 - 8:02pm

Carlos Hernandez has always considered himself a basketball player with the ability to leap, however with less than two years of experience in the high jump the 17 year old from Franklin has cleared 6-4 at regionals. Since that time, he has been improving by leaps and bounds. In fact he has cleared 7 feet, a height that would have won the 5-A championship this year. Hernandez is headed to the National Junior Championships this week in Sacramento.
