El Paso, TX (KDBC) — The hidden cash craze is coming to El Paso.
The concept was started by a real estate investor in San Francisco who started the Twitter account @HiddenCash and posted clues that led followers to stashes of hidden money.
The treasure hunt concept quickly gained momentum in cities throughout the country, and representatives at Evolve Federal Credit Union said it inspired them to try it in El Paso.
"We want to pay it forward and give back to the community that has helped make the credit union so strong," said Elizabeth Ashby, Social Communication Specialist at Evolve.
The credit union will give clues from its Twitter account (@evolvefcu) to lead followers to envelopes hidden near area landmarks. The envelopes will contain $20 to $100.
The only thing the credit union asks in return is for those who find the cash to take a photo and post it to social media using #HiddenCashEP.
The hunt starts Wednesday, June 25 and will continue through Friday, June 27.
