Austin, TX (Texas Tribune) — For more than a decade, Texas has maintained the highest rate of people without health insurance in the nation. Currently, more than 6 million Texans don't have health insurance. The Affordable Care Act requires most people to obtain health coverage in 2014 and sets forth a variety of ways to assist the uninsured. So far, fewer than 120,000 Texans have obtained coverage through the federal health insurance marketplace.
