Google is selling Motorola in a multi-billion dollar deal. Internet giant Google is selling its Motorola Smartphone business to Chinese PC maker, Lenovo for 2-point-9-billion dollars.

The deal includes Motorola Smartphone brands like the Moto X and Moto G and the Droid Ultra Series, but Google will retain ownership of most of its Motorola mobility patents.

The deal is still subject to regulatory approval. Lenovo also acquired IBM's PC business and brand in 2005.
