Frozen four legged friends

Friday, February 15, 2013 - 10:24am

Losing a pet can be a traumatic experience but now you can keep your four legged friend by your side forever.

Anthony Eddy of Slater, Missouri started freeze drying pets after a friend's request. Now his company does close to 120 pet preservations a year. It's not taxidermy, it's actually freezing drying the entire pet minus a few organs and body fat.

Some say its a little spooky, others are amazed just how real their passed-on pet looks. Freeze drying someone's pet is not a short process, sometimes it takes between 8 months to a year to freeze the animal depending on size. The cost to freeze dry a pet starts at about $800.
