Four people injured in Socorro car wreck

Sunday, March 9, 2014 - 8:00pm

Four people were recovering from injuries after a car wreck in Socorro early Sunday morning.

The Socorro Police Department said the car crash happened on Horizon Blvd. and Middle Drain just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

They said a man driving a 2007 black Chevrolet car was speeding northbound on Horizon Blvd.

Police believe he may have not seen a curb right before the train tracks and lost control, which caused the car to roll over.

Four people were taken to Del Sol Medical Center. A man was in critical condition and went through a ten hour surgery, according to police.

Two men and a woman had minor injuries.

Officials believe the driver may have been driving drunk and all the occupants in the car are 20-year-olds.

The driver sustained a cut to his forehead and could face charges.
