El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — Owners of the Fountains at Farah marked their soft opening Friday, with a weekend full of events.
A breakfast and remarks were made by owner Paul Foster, also CEO of Western Refining. He bought the land where the Farah Jean factory once stood eight years ago.
"The most significant thing we can do, besides education, is improve the quality of life here," said Foster. "Quality of life projects help attract not only new businesses, but make it more pleasant or appealing for people to live here and stay here. And for families to thrive and flourish."
Friday evening, the Fountains hosted "Glow Night", which included entertainers such as stilt walkers and glow dancers to draw families to the shopping center.
On Saturday, various events will be held, including a pet adoption at PetSmart, and in the evening will be concerts from bands Sobredosis del Sabor and Fungi Mungle.
"Laid Back Sunday" will be offered at noon, where there will be more strolling entertainment. Singer Christina Gurrola will perform in the amphitheater around 2 p.m.
