LUNA, NM - Fires will intentionally be set in the Gila National Forest.
It's called a prescribed burn, and the point is to reduce the risk of greater fires during the wildfire season in the summer.
The prescribed burn is set for March 19th-31st.
So, if you're driving near the town of Luna, New Mexico during that time, you'll notice the smoke.
