El Paso - - The prosecution made its way to the federal courthouse.
Walking beside the government's attorneys, wearing a blue tie, is special agent Ricardo Ale.
Last Wednesday, Agent Ale passed out on the stand and was urged by a doctor to get rest, leaving both sides no choice but to wait to continue proceedings today.
For his part, Barraza is not saying much about the case...
"you have to talk to my lawyers." "no comment from you? You've been instructed by your lawyers to stay quiet? Yes sir!"
Inside the courtroom, Barraza'sa attorney Mervyn Mosbacker, started where he left off last week. He grilled Agent Ale on the way the FBI allegedly lured Barraza into a scheme where sex and money would be exchanged for having a woman's drug charges dropped.
Mosbacker asked Ale, "Did Mr. Barraza ever say he would drop the case?" Ale answered, "No."
Mosbacker continued to question the agent who looked visibly uncomfortable. Barraza's attorney would not let up and tried to show the jury that Barraza may have been set up by the FBI and the woman he was supposedly going to help
Testimony resumes tomorrow.
