Explosion in Sunland Park

Sunland Park - - An explosion and plenty of smoke. That's what witnesses report in Sunland Park tonight.

A transformer blew at El Paso Electric's Rio Grande power station.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene but damage appeared limited to the transformer.

There was no power outage. Nor were there any injuries.

Fire crews left about an hour after they arrived.
