Police were looking for a man who robbed a group of people at gunpoint in West El Paso.

It happened in the parking lot of a shopping mall on Sunland Park near Mesa Hills at about 7 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the man met two other groups to buy something from them. But instead, they said he pulled out a gun and took off with the items.

Police searched the area with the help of a helicopter overhead, but did not find him.

We talked to a man who works at Menchie’s and saw the action.

“I saw a bunch of cops and stuff right next to my car. So, then, I went up to them and I was like, 'Oh, you know, get off my car,' whatever. They got a little defensive but supposedly someone had pulled a gun and of course that's not to mess with or anything," said Starr.

Police said the man is Hispanic in his late teens to early twenties wearing a gray shirt and jean shorts.

If you see him, call police immediately.
