EPPD investigates two motel robberies

El Paso police were investigating two separate armed robberies at local motels.

The first one happened at the Motel 6 on Gateway East near Raynolds about 7:15 p.m. Friday. The armed robber walked into the front of the hotel, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk handed over the money from the cash register.
The second robbery happened at the Microtel on South Desert and Artcraft just after 8:30 p.m. Friday. The robber walked in with a gun, threatened an employee and left with a bag of cash.
Police have not figured out if the cases are related.
No one was injured.
