EL PASO — Police allegedly caught a copper thief in the act.
A witness called police after they saw someone going in a back door of the 7-Eleven on Hondo Pass and Railroad Saturday morning when it was closed.
The witness saw the person banging some type of metal object with a hammer.
Officers said they found Gabriel Nunez holding a five to six foot piece of copper tubing.
Nunez told officers he was going to sell the copper at a recycling plant.
