El Paso, TX (KDBC) — El Paso Independent School District Police arrested Assad Taylor, 21, for allegedly assaulting an Irvin High School teacher.
El Paso County jail records indicate Taylor was arrested at 12:25 a.m. Monday.
Police said the incident happened April 26, 2013 when two students got into an argument. The situation escalated and one of the students called Taylor, his older brother.
Taylor and another person arrived on campus, reportedly to assault the other student involved in the altercation. Gordon Wofford, an English teacher at Irvin, refused to let Taylor and the other person into the classroom. Police said that is when Taylor allegedly punched Wofford in the face.
Wofford suffered brusing to his face, but is expected to recover.
Taylor is charged with injury to an elderly individual because Wofford is 66 years old.
