An official with El Paso Fire Department has confirmed that an EPFD Truck was involved in a partial collapse of the El Paso Police Department Headquarters parking garage located at 911 Raynor in Central El Paso.

Deputy Chief Robert Arvizu with EPFD says that a EPFD unit was conducting a training operation on the top floor of the parking garage when the front wheel of the truck went through the surface of the top floor, causing a partial collapse in the immediate area.

The garage is only two levels high, and the fire truck is currently stuck on the top level. Authorities are awaiting the arrival of crews from the Department of Transportation in order to help assist with the removal of the truck.

A structural team evaluated the partial collapse and preliminary information indicates that the structure was weakened in this particular area for an unknown reason. No other area of the garage appears to be structurally unsound at this time.

At this time, no cars have been damaged as a result of the partial collapse, but no one is able to retrieve their vehicles out of the structure either. This story is developing, and we will bring you information as it becomes available to us.
