EL PASO — A home in west El Paso went up in flames and investigators said it was caused by an electrical problem.
Firefighters got to the home on Burning Tree near Pebble Beach at about 5 a.m. Sunday.
They noticed heavy smoke coming from the attic.
Two people were inside the home at the time but safely escaped after one of the adults saw lights flashing in the den.
"Upon arrival and interviewing the occupants, they stated they had noticed the light flickering. So that was part of the problem. Then they saw flames and they did the right thing. They called 911 and had us come and do our job," said Battalion Chief George Medina with the El Paso Fire Department.
No one was injured.
The two people who live at the home are staying with relatives.
The damages are estimated at $95,000.
