It has been a tough summer for Hollywood.

According to Rentrak, a company that analyzes movie ticket sales, U.S. box office receipts are down 20% from last year. That's despite the release of several action packed flicks.

Paramount's "Transformers: Age of Extinction," Warner Brothers' "Godzilla," and Fox's "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," all fell short of domestic box office forecasts.
