El Paso- The Martinez family is waiting.  Son Alan waiting for his parents.  His parents waiting for a visa.  Alan is in here in the U.S. Mom and Dad are in Juarez.

"Yeah, actually i really want them here," says Alan Rodriquez.

The family's wait goes from long to indefinite, after the closure of the U.S. Consulate in Juarez last night.  This comes two weeks after a car bomb in the city killed four people including two cops.

The explosion took violence in the city to a new level.  The consulate is responsible for approving visas.  And without visas, Alan's parents stay in Mexico.

"It really worries me because the process is going to take even longer," says Alan.

The State Department hasn't said when the consulate will re-open.  No details have been provided about the security review.

"Congressman Reyes is actually meeting with officials from the State Department later this afternoon in Washington to get more information about the closure," spokesman Vincent Perez told NewsChannel 9.

Martinez wants to see progress soon.

"I really hope that it gets better and try to solve this problem because its actually going to affect not just me, but several families over here," he says.

In the meantime, people wait near entries like the Paso del Norte Bridge.  They are hoping to see a relative cross, visa in hand.
