El Paso- With the closure of the U.S. Consulate in Juarez last night, El Pasoans are expressing concern about family on the Mexican side of the border.

The consulate in Juarez was the only place in the immediate area for non-citizens to apply for U.S. visas.

NewsChannel 9 spoke to one young man who is very nervous about the closure.  Both his parents are in the process of applying for visas in Juarez; a process extended indefinitely after the consulate shut down.

We also just spoke with Congressmen Reyes' office, and are expecting to speak with him by phone shortly about the issue.

Stay tuned to Local 4 News tonight to see both interviews and find out the latest on the closure.
