El Paso, TX (KDBC) — The Rotary Club of El Paso has teamed up with El Paso area pediatricians and Books Are Gems to launch a new program called "Rx to Read."
The new program is geared toward improving literacy and improving family bonding that comes when parents read to their children. The program is also hoping to instill a lifelong love of reading in children by providing inspirational and age appropriate books to children and their families.
The Rotary Club of El Paso has teamed up with twenty area pediatricians and healthcare providers to put books into the hands of children in the El Paso community. The Rotary Club hopes that the medical offices can distribute the books to children in the community who are most in need.
