ISRAEL— Justin Timberlake may want to retract his song “Cry Me A River” after research reveals why a crying woman may be a turn-off to men.

Scientists in Israel said tears transmit a chemical signal to men, after a research conducted revealed the results.

Emotional tears collected in a tube sniffed by men revealed they were less sexually aroused than when the men researched sniffed a saline solution.

“Real” tears, not those produced while slicing an onion, also seemed to lower men's testosterone levels.

The research could give an insight as to why humans cry emotional tears, a trait exclusively to humans.
