WMMA's Inaugural Event Saturday at Haskins Center

Worldwide Mixed Martial Arts, WMMA, will hold their inaugural fight card Saturday at the Haskins Center. Ten bouts will be featured on the card starting at 5:30pm Saturday. The Main Event will feature Sean McCorkle (16-2) vs Brian Heden (20-11), and the co-main event featuring Karo Parisyan (19-8) vs Thomas Denny (26-19-1). The event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Program. Ft. Bliss soldier Darrill Schoonover, an El Paso native, will also fight against Paul Buentello.

WMMA: McCorkle Vs. Heden: Fighting For A Better World, which takes place March 31st, 2012 at the Don Haskins Center, and benefits the Wounded Warrior Project and Wounded Warrior Program.

Information: Karo Parysian is a former UFC welter-weight contender and is probably the most recognized fighter on this card.

Darrill Schoonover is on the undercard he is from El Paso and is mostly known for being on the UFC’s Ultimate Fighter reality series. He was on the same show that Kimbo Slice was on. He was regarded as a great heavyweight prospect and was undefeated with a 10-0 start before losing on the UFC’s Ultimate Fighter Finale. He is fighting well known Paul Buentello who has been a UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator veteran.

Rodney Wallace and Drew Fickett are other notable former UFC fighters.
