UTEP Softball kicked off its 2011 season at the Helen of Troy Complex with a double-header against Northern Colorado.
In the early game, after surrendering a run in the top of the first inning, the Miners scored twelve unanswered to win 12-1. The second game was a little closer but the same end result with UTEP winning 6-2.
The Miners head for Cedar Falls, Iowa Saturday for the Northern Iowa Dome Tournament for the three day event.
