The University of Texas at El Paso President Diana Natalicio will accept a check for $10,000 Wednesday, Nov. 6, from Jacob Prado Gonzalez, the Consul General of Mexico in El Paso.

A ceremony will be held at the Mexican Consulate, 910 E. San Antonio Ave, as part of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME) Becas Scholarship Program.

For the fourth year, IME has funded the scholarship gift to UTEP to provide and improve access to academic opportunities for Mexican students who want to attend adult education programs and universities in the United States.

Recipients use the funds to develop skills in high-demand fields that will enhance their job opportunities.
