LAS CRUCES - Spaceport America is closer to lift off with each passing day and as that day nears more jobs are becoming available.
The Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce hosted a community forum at the Dona Ana County Government Building in Las Cruces Tuesday night to inform business owners and job seekers as to what kind of jobs will be created and how to apply for them.
"We want our members to know first hand where to go to get this information, what the opportunities are and we want to educate them so they know how to go after and pursue this work," said Commercial Space Committee Chairman Wayne Savage.
Several area businesses learned about Spaceport America's bidder registry. On the registry business owners can submit their information and be kept up to date on what jobs are needed and which ones have been filled.
Santa Fe Grill and Catering Marketing Director Amanda Cruz said the registry is going to be very helpful to marketing her company.
"If they're not aware you exist then of course they can't use our services," said Cruz.
