Sandusky's Defense Rests in Sexual Abuse Trial

Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - 1:44pm

Jerry Sandusky's defense team has rested its case. The former Penn State assistant football coach did not take the stand in his own defense during the trial.

Earlier in the day, the defense did call a family friend of the former graduate assistant who testified seeing Sandusky in a shower with a young boy in the Penn State coaches' locker room.

Doctor Jonathan Dranov said Mike McQueary never told him he saw Sandusky engaged in sex with the boy. However, on cross examination, Dranov did go into great detail about how upset and shaken McQueary seemed by the encounter.

Sandusky is charged with 51 criminal counts for alleged sexual abuse of 10 boys over a 15 year period.

Closing arguments will begin Thursday.
