Rhinos Lose to Idaho in Game 1 of Thorne Cup

The El Paso Rhinos struggled against a physical Idaho, losing game one of the Western States Hockey League Championship 3-1.

El Paso is attempting to win their second Thorne Cup since 2008. Game two in the best of three series starts at 7:30 pm at the Sierra Providence Event Center. Tickets start at $5.

• Rhinos looking to win second league championship in five seasons.
• Rhinos have league’s leading scorer in Tyler Beasley.
• Rhinos won Midwest Division championship last week taking Boulder two straight in best of three.
• Rhinos last won league championship in 2008.
• These players are working to earn college scholarships.
• After league championship series both Rhinos and Steelheads go to national competition in Minnesota.
