Nohara Returns after Strangling Incident, Charges pending

NMSU Softball Senior First Baseman Hoku Nohara has been reinstated to the Aggies Softball team after a brief suspension for an arrest on battery. Nohara allegedly strangled her roomate, a member of the NMSU softball team, almost to unconsciousness in the beginning of April. Charges are pending through the Doña Ana County Magistrate Court. The following is a statement from NMSU Athletic Director Dr. McKinley Boston:

"Hoku had been suspended from the softball team for violation of team and athletic social misconduct policy. Hoku has since been reinstated to the team based on a hearing she had with the Department's social misconduct committee in which they recommended missed games and community service. I accepted the committie's recomendations pending the ajudication of the case in the legal system."
