EL PASO, TX — Tonight we know more details about what happened inside an East El Paso home, where a brutal, triple murder occurred last week.
On May 31st, police arrived at a home in East El Paso after someone called to report the smell of gas. Inside, they found the bodies of Marysol Saldivar, her boyfriend Eric De Santiago, and her daughter Cassaundra. Two of the bodies had stab wounds and police found evidence of a mighty struggle.
35-year old Luis Javier Solis-Gonzalez, Marysol's estranged husband is charged tonight with capital murder.
Cassaundra Holt's father Raymond Holt was working his shift on an 18-wheeler hundreds of miles away when he took a phone call that changed his life forever.
"A man put my life in a spin. Took my whole life away from me. My daughter was good. My daughter was real good. Never hurt nobody. She was a good girl," said Holt.
Raymond Holt says Cassaundra was just like him.
"She liked to go swimming, go-cart racing. Go to the beach. She was funny. She was a really funny girl," said Holt.
He is still in shock over the loss of his little girl.
" You think you've felt everything. Nothing compares to this," said Raymond Holt.
Solis Gonzalez had a 4 year-old son with Saldivar. Police say the boy witnessed the triple murder, then Solis Gonzales took Saldivar's truck to Juarez, where the boy's grandparents live. But soon afterward, Solis-Gonzales appeared on the Paso Del Norte Bridge, and turned himself in. But even with the promise of justice served, Raymond Holt will remember the darkest day of his life.
"That was a act of the devil. That was nothing but the devil. She didn't deserve to go like she did. But she did. Not her mother. She didn't deserve that or the guy Eric," said Holt.
