Antonio Escalante will finally get his shot. The number two ranked featherweight contender from El Paso has verbally agreed to take on the number one ranked contender, Daniel Ponce De Leon, in a world title elimination boute. The two boxers will meet September 18th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as part of the HBO pay per view fight featuring Shane Mosley against Sergio Mora. Escalante is 24-2 with 16 knockouts.
